ASTM Thermometers & IP Thermometers

ASTM is and American Standard.
IP ( Institute of Petroleum) is an British standard.

Printed Scale :
Even for the more accurate products, the scale is no longer engraved but printed with a special ALLA FRANCE process.
Note : Most of the thermometers supplied by our competitors are still engraved and as such do not resist to solvents or other chemical products. With time, the graduation becomes unreadable.

Scale resistance :
The graduation resists to all chemical products except fluoridric acid and hot soda ( to a lesser extent) because these 2 products attack the glass.

Calibration :
Out master traceable to the MRA and ILAC are the first instruments controlled every year. More than 68 countries are traceable with our official master.

Traceability :
Every standard thermometer has an individual number printed on the back. This number is stocked in our database and fully traceable to our primary MRA master.

Marking :
The thermometer is fully marked on the back with the ASTM & IP N, the purpose and ASTM or IP method.

Colour of the glass :
The colour of the glass is standardised in yellow, giving a much better reading than white backed instruments, particularly as concerns mercury filled thermometers. This is a quality choice of ALLA FRANCE, as white glass is usually less expensive than yellow.

Calibration reliability :
We took several years to put in place an automatic hydrometer calibration system. Even if error remains possible, the human error probability is excluded at 99.5% .

Traceability :
Every standard hydrometer has an individual number printed on the scale. This number is stocked in our database and fully traceable to our primary MRA master.
The material used to fix the ballast respects 100% the most stringent requirements specified by official standards, namely to be placed horizontally at 80C, for 1 hr without melting.

Every instrument has reference mark at the top of scale and a small but visible cut on the glass. The purpose of this reference mark is to enable the user to detect if the scale has moved after a shock, or with the passage of time.

Marks :
The scale of the hydrometer is fully marked with all the reference norms and international correspondences.

Scale :
The conception of the scale enables a very easy reading, marking clearly the difference between the divisions and subdivisions. When the official standard permints us, we print a double scale enabling the user to read the density whatever the position of the hydrometer inside the cylinder.
